Dinamica Ballet continues to expand its presence in the fitness and functional training world through a collaboration agreement with the Federazione Italiana Fitness (FIF), one of Italy’s leading organizations dedicated to education and the promotion of physical activity.

The latest edition of RiminiWellness provided the perfect setting to introduce this partnership. Widely recognized as one of the most important international events focused on movement, wellness and training, it brings together thousands of professionals, educators, brands and enthusiasts every year.

Barre Training Evolution: When Dance Inspires New Ways to Train

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of Barre Training Evolution, a methodology promoted by the FIF that combines principles drawn from dance and Pilates to improve strength, coordination and body control. It is a clear example of how the techniques and training methods traditionally associated with dancers continue to inspire new approaches to movement and physical conditioning.

For the practical sessions held during the event, the Federazione Italiana Fitness selected our Pina double portable ballet barres. Their stability and reliability made it possible to create training areas capable of accommodating dozens of participants throughout the various activities and demonstrations held during RiminiWellness. The growing interest in this discipline was also reflected in the coverage published by La Gazzetta dello Sport, one of Italy’s leading sports newspapers.

There, nearly one hundred amateur dancers will take part in a collective warm-up led by guest artists of the festival, sharing technique, movement and a passion for dance in a unique setting overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. For these sessions, participants will train using our Pina double portable ballet barre, chosen for its stability, reliability and suitability for large-group practice.

The Giga Dance Barre sessions offer participants the opportunity to work alongside renowned international dance professionals and experience the atmosphere of the festival from a privileged perspective. The events will feature leading artists and companies, including the Stéphanie Lake Company, Giuseppe Chiavaro, ballet master of CCN Malandain Ballet Biarritz, and Christopher Marney, Artistic Director of London City Ballet.

This summer, we held two new photo shoots to showcase our products in real-life settings. Alongside performing arts photographer Pep Casadevall, with whom we share a sensitive artistic vision and a deep passion for movement, we collaborated with two renowned dance schools that opened their doors to us and allowed us to capture the energy of their dancers.

The first shoot took place at Barcelona Dance Center, a school focused on the professional training of dancers. Located in Molins de Rei and affiliated with the Alicia Alonso University Institute of Dance, the school offers a classical and contemporary dance program for young dancers and supports its junior company, BCN City Ballet. In their spacious, naturally lit practice room, we worked with three dancers trained at the center, who showcased their strength, technique, and elegance while interacting with our professional ballet barres and mirrors.

Two weeks later, we visited Dansa Maria Yudes School, where we had the opportunity to photograph both young dancers and children taking their very first steps in the world of dance. With over 40 years of experience, Maria Yudes passionately runs her school by the sea in Badalona. She teaches from an early age in an environment of discipline, respect, and continuous growth, using innovative methodologies with a clear focus on excellence. The welcoming atmosphere, the students’ energy, and the beauty of the space resulted in images full of life and authenticity.

Thank you, Pep Casadevall, for capturing these unique moments through your lens. Thanks also to Barcelona Dance Center and Maria Yudes for welcoming us and supporting us throughout, and to all the dancers for letting us capture your art. We’ll be sharing the final results of these sessions very soon.

Figaro: the stage spirit behind our professional wall mirror

At Dinamica Ballet, we have a tradition of naming our products after the world of dance, opera, and the performing arts—seeking names that convey elegance, strength, and personality. The name of our professional wall mirror, Figaro, pays tribute to one of the most brilliant and subversive characters in the history of the stage: Figaro, the protagonist of The Barber of Seville and The Marriage of Figaro.

Created in the 18th century by French playwright Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais, Figaro is much more than a comic figure; he represents intelligence, freedom, and the will to challenge the established order. At Dinamica Ballet, we were inspired by his strong character and stage presence to name a mirror designed to be a solid, elegant, and versatile working partner.

The journey of an extraordinary character

Figaro first appears in The Barber of Seville (1775), as a clever and determined barber who helps Count Almaviva win the heart of Rosina. Using wit and cunning, he manipulates the situation in favour of the lovers, outsmarting figures of authority.

Beaumarchais brings Figaro back in The Marriage of Figaro (1778), now a servant to Count Almaviva, preparing to marry Susanna. But his master tries to invoke the feudal “droit du seigneur,” claiming the right to seduce Susanna before the wedding. Figaro must then stand up to him. Although comedic, the play delivers a bold critique of aristocratic privilege and foreshadows the revolutionary spirit that would soon sweep across Europe.

Figaro’s story concludes in The Guilty Mother (1792), the third and lesser-known installment of the trilogy. Here, Figaro is a mature man still in service to the same family—now shaped by the passage of time and past mistakes. With a more serious and melancholic tone, the play closes the narrative arc, portraying a Figaro who, while still sharp, has evolved with the turbulent times of the Revolution.

From stage to score: Mozart, Rossini and opera as a voice for change

Beaumarchais’ plays transitioned from the stage to the grand operatic repertoire. In 1786, The Marriage of Figaro was adapted by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. Though the original play was banned in Vienna for its political content, Da Ponte managed to tone down the most controversial elements to pass imperial censorship. Still, the opera preserved the subversive spirit of the original play, defending intelligence, dignity, and liberty against the privileges of class. Mozart turned this story into one of his greatest masterpieces, using music to add emotional depth to the characters and amplify its humanist message. The opera was, in itself, a quiet revolution—proof that art can challenge the status quo with humour, beauty, and ingenuity.

Three decades later, in 1816, composer Gioachino Rossini premiered his version of The Barber of Seville, based on Beaumarchais’ first play. It can be seen as a prequel to Mozart’s opera, written thirty years earlier. This two-act opera buffa captures a young, exuberant Figaro brimming with energy. His famous aria “Largo al factotum” became one of the most charismatic and iconic musical portrayals in operatic history. If Mozart introduced us to a mature Figaro confronting power, Rossini gave us a vibrant image of the character in full bloom.

The reflection of a brilliant character

Like the character of Figaro, our mirror stands out for its versatility, strength, and adaptability. Built with a robust structure and high optical quality glass, the Figaro is designed to deliver stability and visual clarity in dance studios and professional performance spaces.

Figaro is agile, sharp, and knows how to move intelligently through complex situations. That same spirit inspires the mirror’s design: discreet yet essential, able to blend harmoniously into any space while remaining steady during intense rehearsal activity. It’s more than a mirror—it’s a reliable partner, faithfully reflecting movement and helping dancers progress in their craft.

A tribute to stage and movement

With the Figaro mirror, we pay homage to that spirit: to the talent working behind the scenes to make great performances possible, to the intelligence that solves and transforms, and to the beauty of movement honed with discipline. A good mirror doesn’t just reflect the body—it reflects attitude, intention, and the will to grow. Just like Figaro, who never gives up and always finds a way forward.

Last February, we participated at Danza in Fiera, the leading international trade fair for the dance world, held in Florence. As every year, this event, organized by Pitti Immagine, brought together professionals, students, and ballet enthusiasts in a space where the passion for dance comes to life.

In addition to presenting our range of ballet barres and dance mirrors, we had the privilege of contributing as technical partners in exclusive masterclasses. We provided our barres so that great ballet figures could share their artistry and knowledge with new generations of dancers.

Discovering barre: the transformative fusion of ballet, Pilates and yoga

In the world of fitness, emerging disciplines seek to create a comprehensive and effective experience to strengthen the body and take care of health. One of these disciplines is barre, which has been gaining popularity in recent years. Combining elements from ballet, Pilates and yoga through isometric exercises, barre has become an interesting option for those looking to tone the body, work on flexibility and improve body posture.

 Origins and foundations

Barre, as we know it today, had its beginnings in the ’50s, when Lotte Berk, a German dancer, developed a training method that combined ballet with physical rehabilitation exercises. This approach evolved over time, incorporating elements of Pilates and yoga, eventually giving rise to contemporary barre

The term barre refers to the ballet barre used as the main piece of workout equipment during training sessions. The ballet barre provides support for balance while performing targeted movements designed to work specific muscle groups in a precise and controlled manner.

 Benefits of barre

One of the winning points of barre is its ability to offer a full body toning workout. Isometric exercises, characterized by sustained muscle contraction, are essential in this modality and contribute to strengthening and defining the body. Barre is also effective in improving flexibility and physical endurance. Flowing, controlled movements, combined with conscious breathing, help lengthen the muscles and improve the range of motion of the joints. This not only benefits physical performance, but also reduces the risk of injury and improves body posture.

Barre: the transformative fusion of ballet, Pilates and yoga

 Core principles of barre

Barre is based on a series of fundamental principles that guide the practice and guarantee effective and safe results:

  1. Control and precision: Every movement in the barre is performed with control and precision, focusing on quality over quantity. This ensures that you work out optimally and minimize the risk of injury.
  2. Range and stability: Barre exercises seek to achieve a balance between range of motion and stability. This involves working on both strength and flexibility in a balanced way to improve body functionality.
  3. Mind-body connection: As in yoga, barre emphasizes the mind-body connection through conscious breathing and the precise execution of each movement, promoting relaxation and mental well-being.
  4. Variation and progression: Although barre is based on specific movements, it includes such a big range of exercises and variations that allows us to adapt the practice to different skill and fitness levels. Additionally, gradual progression is essential to keep on challenging the body and achieve long-lasting results.

Barre is a unique and effective fitness discipline that combines elements of ballet, Pilates and yoga to offer a complete workout that tones the body, improves flexibility and physical resistance and promotes healthy body posture. If you are looking for a fun and challenging way to stay in shape, barre could be the perfect option for you! In our online shop you can find the perfect wall mounted or freestanding ballet barres for practicing this discipline.

We collaborated with the Catalonia Choreographic Awards and the audition of the Joffrey Ballet School in New York

Premis Coreogràfics Catalunya and Dinamica Ballet

In March, the fifth edition of Premis Coreogràfics Catalunya (Catalonia Choreographic Awards) was held in Barcelona, a competition that brings together dance students and professionals of this art, creating a space for artistic exchange between professionals and dance enthusiasts.

Young creators presented their proposals in the solo, duo and group categories in different styles such as classical, contemporary, jazz, folklore or urban dance. The jury evaluated the originality, interpretation and technical execution by the dancers, as well as the use of music and overall choreography. Once again, the level of the choreographies was excellent.

Within the framework of the Premis Coreogràfics Catalunya, an audition was also held by the Joffrey Ballet School, which has been collaborating since last year with the organization of the Choreographic Awards to generate a complete dance experience for all the participants in the competition. The Joffrey Ballet School from New York City, with more than sixty years of history, has remained at the forefront of North American artistic education. Throughout all the year they offer professional training programs in New York and in the summer, they organize auditions and intensive dance courses in different cities in the United States and in other countries around the world.

The Giselle height-adjustable portable ballet barre offers great versatility in the classroom thanks to its two types of bases, its double wooden bar and the 10 positions of its adjustment mechanism. When we had to name it, we were inspired as you might have guessed, by one of the greatest ballet classics.

The ballet Giselle is one of the best known and most appreciated ballets of the world’s classical repertoire. With music by composer Adolphe Adam and choreography by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot, this work premiered in Paris in 1841 and has since been performed all over the world.

The story of Giselle is about a beautiful young peasant girl who falls in love with Count Albrecht, who has disguised himself as a humble villager in order to court her. When the truth comes out, Giselle is so devastated that she loses her mind and dies.

In the second act, Giselle rises from the dead as a spirit, along with other prematurely dead maidens known as ‘Willis’. Although dead, Giselle remains loyal to Albrecht and tries to protect him from the vendettas of the Willis, who want Albrecht to join them in death.

The ballet Giselle is known for its thrilling pas de deux and difficult ballet steps, especially in the role of Giselle, which demand impeccable technique and grace on the part of the principal dancer. In addition, Giselle’s story of love and its everlasting loyalty remains a universally moving theme.

If you have the opportunity to see the ballet Giselle live, don’t hesitate. It is an unforgettable show that will not disappoint.
